Mark 2 and Romans 13
In both these chapters is shown that right submission to the higher powers. King David is referred to in Mark 2 and he did not submit to Saul and the disciples and Christ did not submitt to the laws that the Pharisees made to keep the sabbath. The sabbath was made for man in the sense that it was made so that man would lay aside his self-seeking ways and find time to be strengthened by resting in God. Romans 13 emphasizes that the over arching rule of submission to the powers that be is to the degree that it does not violate loving God and your neighbour as yourselves.

Isaiah 25 and 1 John 3
About being ready for the return of Jesus Christ.

2Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.3And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Isa 25:2-3 (KJV)
2For thou hast made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built.3Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee.

Amplified Bible
Therefore a strong people will honor You; Cities of terrible and violent nations will fear You.
Isa 25:6-10 (KJV)

Isaiah 24 and 2 Peter 1
Both of these chapters are about having an abundant entrance into the Kingdom of God in the day of judgment which is also the day of His return to rule on the earth.
Isa 24:4-6 (KJV)
4The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish.5The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.6Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.
Isa 24:13-15 (KJV)
13When thus it shall be in the midst of the land among the people, there shall be as the shaking of an olive tree, and as the gleaning grapes when the vintage is done.14They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty of the LORD, they shall cry aloud from the sea.15Wherefore glorify ye the LORD in the fires, even the name of the LORD God of Israel in the isles of the sea.

These two chapters have the common theme of cutting off the spirit of rebellion that can cause rebellion to spread.

Titus 3:8-11 (KJV)
8This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.9But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.10A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;11Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

Deut 21:18-23 (KJV)

  1. If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:19Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;20And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.21And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.22And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree:23His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

Jonah 3 and Nehemiah 2
In Jonah you have the conditions for preservation from destruction of a nation and in Nehemiah 2 the conditions met for construction against destruction. Nehemiah was burdened for the glory of God to return to Israel to the point of being willing to be real with that burden from God before the King which could have had him executed. He also had termendous faith to be so bold as to ask for wealth and resources from King Artaxerxes to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem.
