1 Samuel 9 and Proverbs 29
Saul was often reproved by David and allowed people to flatter him. Leadership in the church needs to repent of failing to reprove leadership that is leading people astray because of the spirit of pride that has caused them to error in teaching the people.
1Sam 10:1-3 (KJV)
1Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured [it] upon his head, and kissed him, and said, [Is it] not because the LORD hath anointed thee [to be] captain over his inheritance?2When thou art departed from me to day, then thou shalt find two men by Rachel’s sepulchre in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say unto thee, The asses which thou wentest to seek are found: and, lo, thy father hath left the care of the asses, and sorroweth for you, saying, What shall I do for my son?3Then shalt thou go on forward from thence, and thou shalt come to the plain of Tabor, and there shall meet thee three men going up to God to Bethel, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine:

Prov 29:1-5 (KJV)
1He, that being often reproved hardeneth [his] neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.2When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.3Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth [his] substance.4The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.5A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.

2 Samuel 21 and Esther 5 plus Psalms 136
In both chapters there is serious impending judgment upon the people of God and then great deliverance and victory which happens because of his people paying the price to turn away the cause of God’s judgment and wrath.

2Sam 21:1-7 (KJV)
1Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, [It is] for Saul, and for [his] bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.2And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them; (now the Gibeonites [were] not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)3Wherefore David said unto the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? and wherewith shall I make the atonement, that ye may bless the inheritance of the LORD?4And the Gibeonites said unto him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his house; neither for us shalt thou kill any man in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, [that] will I do for you.5And they answered the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us [that] we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the coasts of Israel,6Let seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will hang them up unto the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, [whom] the LORD did choose. And the king said, I will give [them].7But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORD’S oath that [was] between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.

2Sam 21:11-14 (KJV)
11And it was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the concubine of Saul, had done.12And David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabeshgilead, which had stolen them from the street of Bethshan, where the Philistines had hanged them, when the Philistines had slain Saul in Gilboa:13And he brought up from thence the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged.14And the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son buried they in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the sepulchre of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was intreated for the land.

2Sam 21:15-22 (KJV)
15Moreover the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David waxed faint.16And Ishbibenob, which [was] of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear [weighed] three hundred [shekels] of brass in weight, he being girded with a new [sword], thought to have slain David.17But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel.18And it came to pass after this, that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph, which [was] of the sons of the giant.19And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew [the brother of] Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear [was] like a weaver’s beam.20And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of [great] stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.21And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea the brother of David slew him.22These four were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.

Esth 5:1-5 (KJV)
1Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on [her] royal [apparel], and stood in the inner court of the king’s house, over against the king’s house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house.2And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, [that] she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that [was] in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.3Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what [is] thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.4And Esther answered, If [it seem] good unto the king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the banquet that I have prepared for him.5Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste, that he may do as Esther hath said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared.

Ps 136:1-26 (KJV)
1O give thanks unto the LORD; for [he is] good: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.2O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.3O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.4To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.5To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.6To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.7To him that made great lights: for his mercy [endureth] for ever:8The sun to rule by day: for his mercy [endureth] for ever:9The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.10To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for his mercy [endureth] for ever:11And brought out Israel from among them: for his mercy [endureth] for ever:12With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.13To him which divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy [endureth] for ever:14And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy [endureth] for ever:15But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.16To him which led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.17To him which smote great kings: for his mercy [endureth] for ever:18And slew famous kings: for his mercy [endureth] for ever:19Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy [endureth] for ever:20And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy [endureth] for ever:21And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy [endureth] for ever:22[Even] an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.23Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy [endureth] for ever:24And hath redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.25Who giveth food to all flesh: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.26O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.

1 Chronicles 19 and Jude 1 and 1 John 3
The first two chapters are about being taken by surprise.
1John 3:1-22 (KJV)
1Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.2Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.3And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.4Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.5And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.6Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.7Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.8He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.9Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.10In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.11For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.12Not as Cain, [who] was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.13Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.14We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not [his] brother abideth in death.15Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.16Hereby perceive we the love [of God], because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down [our] lives for the brethren.17But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels [of compassion] from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?18My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.19And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.20For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.21Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, [then] have we confidence toward God.22And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

Jude 1:4-5 (KJV)
4For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.5I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

1Chr 19:3-5 (KJV)
3But the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun, Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? are not his servants come unto thee for to search, and to overthrow, and to spy out the land?4Wherefore Hanun took David’s servants, and shaved them, and cut off their garments in the midst hard by their buttocks, and sent them away.5Then there went [certain], and told David how the men were served. And he sent to meet them: for the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and [then] return.

Psalms 33 and Revelation 12 plus Nehemiah 5
The common theme between these 3 chapters is that the Lord will bring deliverance to those who fear him because those who fear him do not have self-seeking motives that break unity with God and with one another but rather bring unity with God and unity with one another which brings his habitation that is a shield of protection.
Ps 33:8-11 (KJV)
8Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.9For he spake, and it was [done]; he commanded, and it stood fast.10The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.11The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
Ps 33:18-22 (KJV)
18Behold, the eye of the LORD [is] upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;19To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.20Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he [is] our help and our shield.21For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.22Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.

Rev 12:1-17 (KJV)
1And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:2And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.3And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.4And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.5And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and [to] his throne.6And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred [and] threescore days.7And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,8And prevailed not; neither okay their place found any more in heaven.9And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.10And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.11And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.12Therefore rejoice, [ye] heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.13And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man [child].14And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.15And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.16And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.17And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Neh 5:8-9 (KJV)
8And I said unto them, We after our ability have redeemed our brethren the Jews, which were sold unto the heathen; and will ye even sell your brethren? or shall they be sold unto us? Then held they their peace, and found nothing [to answer].9Also I said, It [is] not good that ye do: ought ye not to walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the heathen our enemies?

Numbers 33 and 2 Timothy 4
The common theme is wholeheartedness to not compromise with evil but to expose and oppose it in order to overcome for ultimate purpose.
Num 33:51-56 (KJV)
51Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye are passed over Jordan into the land of Canaan;52Then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and quite pluck down all their high places:53And ye shall dispossess [the inhabitants] of the land, and dwell therein: for I have given you the land to possess it.54And ye shall divide the land by lot for an inheritance among your families: [and] to the more ye shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer ye shall give the less inheritance: every man’s [inheritance] shall be in the place where his lot falleth; according to the tribes of your fathers ye shall inherit.55But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them [shall be] pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.56Moreover it shall come to pass, [that] I shall do unto you, as I thought to do unto them.

2Tim 4:1-8 (KJV)
1I charge [thee] therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;2Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;4And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.5But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.6For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.7I have fought a good fight, I have finished [my] course, I have kept the faith:8Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
