ROUGH NOTES
FOR LAST WEEK OF 2021

December 27, 2021 Monday
1st Samuel 13 and Jeremiah 35 and Isaiah 52
The disobedience of Saul is contrasted with the obedience of the Rechabites.
Isa 52:10-11 (KJV)
10The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.11Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD.

December 28, 2021 Tuesday
Ezekiel 31 and 1st Timothy 3
The pride of nations that God will humble and the pride of leadership that leads to corrupt leadership used by Satan.
Ezek 31:10-11 (KJV)
10Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast lifted up thyself in height, and he hath shot up his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;11I have therefore delivered him into the hand of the mighty one of the heathen; he shall surely deal with him: I have driven him out for his wickedness.

Ezek 31:14 (KJV)
14To the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves for their height, neither shoot up their top among the thick boughs, neither their trees stand up in their height, all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.

Ezek 31:16-18 (KJV)
16I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to hell with them that descend into the pit: and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, shall be comforted in the nether parts of the earth.17They also went down into hell with him unto them that be slain with the sword; and they that were his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the heathen.18To whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden unto the nether parts of the earth: thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord GOD.

1Tim 3:2 (KJV)
2A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

1Tim 3:6-7 (KJV)
6Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.7Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

1Tim 3:15-16 (KJV)
15But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.16And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

GOD’S WORD® Translation
The mystery that gives us our reverence for God is acknowledged to be great: He appeared in his human nature, was approved by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was announced throughout the nations, was believed in the world, and was taken to heaven in glory.

Genesis 7 and Jeremiah 2
The cause of apostacy that leads to full judgment is the failure to fear God.
Gen 7:11 (KJV)11In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
Gen 7:21-22 (KJV)
21And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:22All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.
Flavius Josephus of the Antiquities of the Jews — Book I

Now this posterity of Seth continued to esteem God as the Lord of the universe, and to have an entire regard to virtue, for seven generations: but in process of time they were perverted, and forsook the practices of their fore-fathers; and did neither pay those honours to God which were appointed them, nor had they any concern to do justice towards men. But for what degree of zeal they had formerly shewn for virtue, they now shewed by their actions a double degree of wickedness. Whereby they made God to be their enemy. For many Angels of God (14) accompanied with women, and begat sons that proved unjust, and despisers of all that was good; on account of the confidence they had in their own strength. For the tradition is, that these men did what resembled the acts of those whom the Grecians call Giants. But Noah was very uneasy at what they did: and being displeased at their conduct, persuaded them to change their dispositions, and their actions for the better. But seeing they did not yield to him, but were slaves to their wicked pleasures, he was afraid they would kill him, together with his wife and children, and those they had married. So he departed out of that land.

Jer 2:8 (KJV)
8The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.
Jer 2:11-13 (KJV)
11Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.12Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD.13For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
Jer 2:19 (KJV)
19Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

Exodus 12 and 2nd Kings 20
In Exodus chapter 12 we see what caused the children of Israel to be delivered from the captivity of Egypt and and 2nd Kings 20 we see what caused Israel to go into the captivity of Babylon. One chapter reveals the cause of deliverance from captivity and the other chapter reveals the cause of entering into the bondage of captivity. . We also see the cause of deliverance from death in both chapters. In Exodus 12 it was applying the blood of the innocent lamb to the doorposts of the entrance of their place of comfort and habitation which is their home. With King Hezekiah it was the deep cry in his heart in great humility before God that caused God to turn and grant him deliverance from death by healing through the application of a plant to his wound. God is revealing that the door of our heart must have the application of his perfect atoning sacrifice in His body broken and in His bloodshed but that this requires also a circumcised heart. Some may have wounds in their soul that will cause them to die earlier than God’s appointed time. God is saying to such to circumcise their heart in a deep cry and turning to him and to apply the life that issues from Jesus Christ Who is the tree of life. When the fig tree did not have fruit when Christ came to it it withered and died before it’s time to bear fruit. Christ came to Jerusalem and mourned over the fact that they were not ready to receive him and would have to experience judgment. We are called the dig up and break up the follow ground in the planting of our lives as the fig tree so that we as the fig tree will not only be in fertile soil but also pruned to bear much fruit in God’s time rather than cast away to die before God’s time.

Luke 13:6-9 (KJV)
6He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.7Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?8And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:9And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
Matt 21:19-20 (KJV)
19And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.20And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!
Matt 23:36-39 (KJV)
36Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.37O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!38Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.39For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
