Luke 8 and Luke 4
The common theme in these two chapters is about receiving the word of God.
In Luke 4 they reject His word because of self-righteous pride. In Luke 8 the Gadarenes have fear of loss of income an of demons attacking them and tell Christ to depart. All the parables are about rightly receiving the Word of God.

1 Samuel 2 and Mark 3
The common theme found in these two chapters is cutting off natural relationships such as your own immediate family that would hinder you from seeking first the Kingdom of God.
In 1 Samuel 2 Hannah was willing to sacrifice her Son Samuel to the LORD in her desire to have children by giving him to be a priest and never hardly ever see her. As a result God blessed her with six children. In this chapter also Eli reproved his sons for their wickedness but that was not enough. God expected him to take action and also cut off his sons from the Priests.
In Mark 3 the relatives of Jesus get in the way of His ministry and he declares that his true relatives and family are not his natural family but those that do the will of God the Father.
1Sam 2:20-21 (KJV)
20And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, The LORD give thee seed of this woman for the loan which is lent to the LORD. And they went unto their own home.21And the LORD visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the LORD.
1Sam 2:27-35 (KJV)
27And there came a man of God unto Eli, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Did I plainly appear unto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt in Pharaoh’s house?28And did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to offer upon mine altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? and did I give unto the house of thy father all the offerings made by fire of the children of Israel?29Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded in my habitation; and honourest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people?30Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.31Behold, the days come, that I will cut off thine arm, and the arm of thy father’s house, that there shall not be an old man in thine house.32And thou shalt see an enemy in my habitation, in all the wealth which God shall give Israel: and there shall not be an old man in thine house for ever.33And the man of thine, whom I shall not cut off from mine altar, shall be to consume thine eyes, and to grieve thine heart: and all the increase of thine house shall die in the flower of their age.34And this shall be a sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas; in one day they shall die both of them.35And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.
Mark 3:31-35 (KJV)
31There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him.32And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.33And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?34And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!35For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

Jeremiah 46 and 1 Chronicles 17 plus Numbers 3
Both of these chapters are about establishing the nation of Israel forever through which the government of God will rule.
Jer 46:27-28 (KJV)
27But fear not thou, O my servant Jacob, and be not dismayed, O Israel: for, behold, I will save thee from afar off, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be in rest and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.28Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith the LORD: for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave thee wholly unpunished.
1Chr 17:9-10 (KJV)
9Also I will ordain a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning,10And since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. Moreover I will subdue all thine enemies. Furthermore I tell thee that the LORD will build thee an house.
1Chr 17:21-23 (KJV)
21And what one nation in the earth is like thy people Israel, whom God went to redeem to be his own people, to make thee a name of greatness and terribleness, by driving out nations from before thy people, whom thou hast redeemed out of Egypt?22For thy people Israel didst thou make thine own people for ever; and thou, LORD, becamest their God.23Therefore now, LORD, let the thing that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant and concerning his house be established for ever, and do as thou hast said.
Numbers 3:12-13
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 12And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of all the firstborn that openeth the matrix among the children of Israel: therefore the Levites shall be mine; 13because all the firstborn are mine; for on the day that I smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto me all the firstborn in Israel, both man and beast: mine shall they be: I am the LORD.

John 13 and Isaiah 33
In both of these chapters there is the deceptive act of betrayal. After the betrayal there is the arising of the Kingdom of God that conquers all and is established.
John 13:26-38 (KJV)
26Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.27And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.28Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him.29For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.30He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night.31Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him.32If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him.33Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you.34A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.35By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.36Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered him, Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow me afterwards.37Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake.38Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice.
Isa 33:1-2 (KJV)
1Woe to thee that spoilest, and thou wast not spoiled; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! when thou shalt cease to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled; and when thou shalt make an end to deal treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.2O LORD, be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.
Isa 33:7-9 (KJV)
7Behold, their valiant ones shall cry without: the ambassadors of peace shall weep bitterly.8The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth: he hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth no man.9The earth mourneth and languisheth: Lebanon is ashamed and hewn down: Sharon is like a wilderness; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their fruits.
Isa 33:10-17 (KJV)
10Now will I rise, saith the LORD; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself.11Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath, as fire, shall devour you.12And the people shall be as the burnings of lime: as thorns cut up shall they be burned in the fire.13Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might.14The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?15He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;16He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.17Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off.

Psalms 136 and Psalms 114 plus Isaiah 18
These two chapters are about the great deliverance of God’s people from Egypt which represents the oppressive tyranny and bondage of the corrupt world system. They are both revealed in the crossing of the red sea. God will leave the corrupt world system that sought to rule over God’s people in total judgment and desolate. Isaiah 18 is a prophecy of the people beyond Ethopia
Ps 136:10-16 (KJV)
10To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for his mercy endureth for ever:11And brought out Israel from among them: for his mercy endureth for ever:12With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endureth for ever.13To him which divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endureth for ever:14And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy endureth for ever:15But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for his mercy endureth for ever.16To him which led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Ps 114:1-8 (KJV)
1When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;2Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.3The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.4The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.5What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?6Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?7Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;8Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
Isaiah 18 4-7 Amplified
“I will be quiet and I will look on from My dwelling place,
Like shimmering heat above the sunshine,
Like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.”
5For before the harvest, when the blossom is over
And the flower becomes a ripening grape,
He will cut off the sprigs [without buds] with pruning knives,
And [He will] remove and cut away the spreading branches.
6They (warriors) will be left together for the mountain birds of prey,
And for the beasts of the earth;
And the birds of prey will [spend the] summer feeding on them,
And all the beasts of the earth will spend harvest time on them.
7At that time a gift of homage will be brought to the Lord of hosts
From a people tall and smooth (clean shaven),
From a people feared far and wide,
A powerful and oppressive nation,
Whose land the rivers divide—
To the place [of worship] of the name of the Lord of hosts, to Mount Zion [in Jerusalem].
