Exodus 7 and Genesis 13
Both of these chapters have the theme of loving the world and the consequences of being enslaved by it or coming out of it. Because Abraham did not covet the temporal pleasures of this world God promised him that his seed would inherit all that he could see including the land of Sodom that lot sought. The herd men of lot contented with the herd men of Abraham because of covetousness. Egypt enslaved the children of Israel for 4 hundred years. They had to pay the price of coming out of the enslavement of Egypt which represents the world.

Exod 7:2-4 (KJV)

2Thou shalt speak all that I command thee: and Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh, that he send the children of Israel out of his land.3And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.4But Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you, that I may lay my hand upon Egypt, and bring forth mine armies, and my people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.

Gen 13:12-18 (KJV)

12Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.13But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.14And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:15For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.16And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.17Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.18Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the LORD.

1 Kings 22 and Psalms 136
It is God’s mercy that removes the wicked from ruling over the righteous.
1Kgs 22:16-25 (KJV)

16And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the LORD?17And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the hills, as sheep that have not a shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master: let them return every man to his house in peace.18And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would prophesy no good concerning me, but evil?19And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.20And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner.21And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him.22And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.23Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.24But Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near, and smote Micaiah on the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto thee?25And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see in that day, when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.

Ps 136:17-26 (KJV)

17To him which smote great kings: for his mercy endureth for ever:18And slew famous kings: for his mercy endureth for ever:19Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy endureth for ever:20And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy endureth for ever:21And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy endureth for ever:22Even an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy endureth for ever.23Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth for ever:24And hath redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endureth for ever.25Who giveth food to all flesh: for his mercy endureth for ever.26O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Gen 17:9-22 (KJV)

9And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.10This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.11And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.12And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.13He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.14And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.15And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.16And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.17Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?18And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!19And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.20And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.21But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.22And he left off talking with him, and God went up from Abraham.

Psalms 91 and Psalms 28 plus 2 Timothy 2
These chapters have the common theme of building habitation with God both individually and corporately. What erodes habitation with God is buying into deception to not believe in the truth Who is Who God truly is so that we then no longer trust in God or seek love relationship with God.
Ps 91:1-2 (KJV)

1He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.2I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Ps 91:5-10 (KJV)

5Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;6Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.7A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.8Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.9Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;10There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

Ps 28:1-2 (KJV)

1A Psalm of David. Unto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.2Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.

Ps 28:3-5 (KJV)

3Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.4Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.5Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.

Ps 28:6-9 (KJV)

6Blessed be the LORD, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.7The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.8The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.9Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.

2Tim 2:10-13 (KJV)

10Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.11It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:12If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:13If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

2Tim 2:17-25 (KJV)

17And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;18Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.19Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.20But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.21If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.22Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.23But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.24And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,25In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

Judges 8 and Psalms 118
In both of these chapters there is the theme of God’s rule over that gathering of His people or the corrupt reign of man over a people and a nation.
Judg 8:22-34 (KJV)

22Then the men of Israel said unto Gideon, Rule thou over us, both thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son also: for thou hast delivered us from the hand of Midian.23And Gideon said unto them, I will not rule over you, neither shall my son rule over you: the LORD shall rule over you.24And Gideon said unto them, I would desire a request of you, that ye would give me every man the earrings of his prey. (For they had golden earrings, because they were Ishmaelites.)25And they answered, We will willingly give them. And they spread a garment, and did cast therein every man the earrings of his prey.26And the weight of the golden earrings that he requested was a thousand and seven hundred shekels of gold; beside ornaments, and collars, and purple raiment that was on the kings of Midian, and beside the chains that were about their camels’ necks.27And Gideon made an ephod thereof, and put it in his city, even in Ophrah: and all Israel went thither a whoring after it: which thing became a snare unto Gideon, and to his house.28Thus was Midian subdued before the children of Israel, so that they lifted up their heads no more. And the country was in quietness forty years in the days of Gideon.29And Jerubbaal the son of Joash went and dwelt in his own house.30And Gideon had threescore and ten sons of his body begotten: for he had many wives.31And his concubine that was in Shechem, she also bare him a son, whose name he called Abimelech.32And Gideon the son of Joash died in a good old age, and was buried in the sepulchre of Joash his father, in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.33And it came to pass, as soon as Gideon was dead, that the children of Israel turned again, and went a whoring after Baalim, and made Baalberith their god.34And the children of Israel remembered not the LORD their God, who had delivered them out of the hands of all their enemies on every side:

Ps 118:1-29 (KJV)

1O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.2Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.3Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.4Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever.5I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.6The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?7The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.8It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.9It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.10All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them.11They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.12They compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.13Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the LORD helped me.14The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.15The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.16The right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.17I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.18The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.19Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD:20This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.21I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.22The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.23This is the LORD’S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.24This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.25Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.26Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.27God is the LORD, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.28Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.29O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Deuteronomy 32 and Acts 28
These two chapters are about making the choice to believe or not to believe and fall into apostacy.
Deut 32:2-6 (KJV)

2My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:3Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.4He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.5They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation.6Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?

Deut 32:15-18 (KJV)

15But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.16They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger.17They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.18Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.

Deut 32:36-39 (KJV)

36For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left.37And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted,38Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? let them rise up and help you, and be your protection.39See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.

Deut 32:48-50 (KJV)

48And the LORD spake unto Moses that selfsame day, saying,49Get thee up into this mountain Abarim, unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession:50And die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy people; as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered unto his people:

Acts 28:6-9 (KJV)

6Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.7 In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously.8And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.9So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:

Acts 28:22-31 (KJV)

22But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.23And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.24And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.25And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,26Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:27For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.28Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.29And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.30And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,31Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.
