Scriptures Taken by Lot Before the LORD with Rough Notes

September 8, 2025 Monday
Job 41 and Leviticus 5
Ruth 4 and Deuteronomy 19

Job 41 and Leviticus 5 are about really fearing God so we do not sin. The sin of ignorance is not excused but requires repentance and happened because of not fearing God in His holiness to bring severe judgment.

These passages are about sins of ignorance. Ruth and Naomi found refuge by returning to Israel where they were restored. And Deuteronomy 19 is about the cities of refuge due to killing someone without motivation or intent. There is the consequences of confinement in the city because they could have been more diligent so the accident did not happen.

Matthew 21 and Psalms 73

These two chapters are about those that truly have a heart that desires prayer and to draw nigh into the presence of God and those that seek their own glory over the presence of God in the last days.
Matt 21:12-32 (KJV)

12And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,13And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.14And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.15And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David; they were sore displeased,16And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?17And he left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged there.18Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered.19And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.20And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!21Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.22And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.23And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?24And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.25The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?26But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.27And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.28But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.29He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.30And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.31Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.32For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.

Ps 73:17-28 (KJV)

17Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.18Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.19How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.20As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.21Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.22So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee.23Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.24Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.25Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.26My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.27For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.28But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.

Romans 4 and Jeremiah 3

Both these chapters reveal that we are saved from ungodliness to eternal life not by our works but by our moral persuasion in God which also is in Who God could only be to be God. The reason Israel did not turn and repent is because they chose to not rightly perceive God as their Father. The choice to rightly perceive God is a choice to have faith in the one true God, Yahweh, the Almighties, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Rom 4:1-25 (KJV)

1What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?2For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.3For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.4Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.5But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.6Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,7Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.8Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.9Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.10How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.11And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:12And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.13For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.14For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:15Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.16Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,17(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.18Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.19And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb:20He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;21And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.22And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.23Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;24But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;25Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Ps 32:2-5 (KJV)

2Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.3When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.4For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.5I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

Jer 3:3-4 (KJV)

3Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain; and thou hadst a whore’s forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed.4Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth?

Jer 3:12-14 (KJV)

12Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the LORD, and I will not keep anger for ever.13Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD.14Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:

Psalms 68 and 2 Chronicles 15

Both of these chapters are about great victory over the wicked and evil because God’s people truly repented and came out of all compromise.

Ps 68:19-32 (KJV)

19Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.20He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death.21But God shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses.22The Lord said, I will bring again from Bashan, I will bring my people again from the depths of the sea:23That thy foot may be dipped in the blood of thine enemies, and the tongue of thy dogs in the same.24They have seen thy goings, O God; even the goings of my God, my King, in the sanctuary.25The singers went before, the players on instruments followed after; among them were the damsels playing with timbrels.26Bless ye God in the congregations, even the Lord, from the fountain of Israel.27There is little Benjamin with their ruler, the princes of Judah and their council, the princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali.28Thy God hath commanded thy strength: strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.29Because of thy temple at Jerusalem shall kings bring presents unto thee.30Rebuke the company of spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the people, till every one submit himself with pieces of silver: scatter thou the people that delight in war.31Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God.32Sing unto God, ye kingdoms of the earth; O sing praises unto the Lord; Selah:

2Chr 15:4-9 (KJV)

4But when they in their trouble did turn unto the LORD God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them.5And in those times there was no peace to him that went out, nor to him that came in, but great vexations were upon all the inhabitants of the countries.6And nation was destroyed of nation, and city of city: for God did vex them with all adversity.7Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.8And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from mount Ephraim, and renewed the altar of the LORD, that was before the porch of the LORD.9And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and the strangers with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon: for they fell to him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.

2Chr 15:10-19 (KJV)

10So they gathered themselves together at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa.11And they offered unto the LORD the same time, of the spoil which they had brought, seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep.12And they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul;13That whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.14And they sware unto the LORD with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets.15And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and the LORD gave them rest round about.16And also concerning Maachah the mother of Asa the king, he removed her from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove: and Asa cut down her idol, and stamped it, and burnt it at the brook Kidron.17But the high places were not taken away out of Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days.18And he brought into the house of God the things that his father had dedicated, and that he himself had dedicated, silver, and gold, and vessels.19And there was no more war unto the five and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa.

Romans 16 and Jeremiah 51

Rom 16:17-27 (KJV)

17Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.18For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.19For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.20And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.21Timotheus my workfellow, and Lucius, and Jason, and Sosipater, my kinsmen, salute you.22I Tertius, who wrote this epistle, salute you in the Lord.23Gaius mine host, and of the whole church, saluteth you. Erastus the chamberlain of the city saluteth you, and Quartus a brother.24The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.25Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,26But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:27To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.
