Matthew 26 and Luke 10
Both chapters have the pouring out of costly substance. One on the head of Jesus and the other to rescue the wounded Samaratin. Both chapters have what seems to be a waste in the natural but from a Godly viewpoint are a sacrifice of love to God.
Matt 26:6-14 (KJV)
6Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,7There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.8But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?9For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.10When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.11For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.12For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.13Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.14Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,
Luke 10:38-42 (KJV)
38Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.39And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.40But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.41And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:42But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
Luke 10:12-16 (KJV)
12But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.13Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.14But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.15And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.16He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.
How much more the judgment of God on the Religious council that judged Jesus when He had done so many miracles amoung them.

John 5 and Genesis 14
The common theme in these two chapters is honoring the Father.
Gen 14:17-24 (KJV)
17And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king’s dale.18And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.19And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:20And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.21And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself.22And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,23That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:24Save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion.
John 5:37-43 (KJV)
37And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.38And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.39Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.40And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.41I receive not honour from men.42But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.43I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
