Exodus 20 and Matthew 24
In both of these chapters there are those that were not ready for God’s visitation. They were eating and drinking and committing sin and idolatry because they did not believe Moses would come back. The same before the coming of Jesus Christ in Matthew 24
Exod 20:18-26 (KJV)
18And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.19And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.20And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.21And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.22And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.23Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.24An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.25And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.26Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.
Matt 24:37-51 (KJV)
37But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.38For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,39And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.40Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.41Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.42Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.43But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.44Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.45Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?46Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.47Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.48But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;49And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;50The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,51And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

2 Corinthians 4 and Zephaniah 1
When God’s people choose to be independent from God and to not seek God they then bring upon themselves serious judgment in this world and everlasting judgment in the world to come.
2Cor 4:1-6 (KJV)
1Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;2But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.3But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:4In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.5For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.6For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
Zeph 1:4-7 (KJV)
4I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests;5And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the LORD, and that swear by Malcham;6And them that are turned back from the LORD; and those that have not sought the LORD, nor enquired for him.7Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests.
Zeph 1:11-17 (KJV)
11Howl, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are cut down; all they that bear silver are cut off.12And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil.13Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof.14The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.15That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,16A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.17And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.

1 Samuel 18 and Psalms 61
In 1 Samuel 18 Saul repeatedly seeks to kill King David because he is jealous of him because he saw that God was with him and this made him afraid that King David would replace him as King. The context of Psalms 61 is certainly seen in 1 Samuel 18. King David receives protection from the LORD because he cries unto the LORD out of the acknowledgment by the confession of his mouth of God as his ultimate source unshakable source. He also ack
1Sam 18:9-13 (KJV)
9And Saul eyed David from that day and forward.10And it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as at other times: and there was a javelin in Saul’s hand.11And Saul cast the javelin; for he said, I will smite David even to the wall with it. And David avoided out of his presence twice.12And Saul was afraid of David, because the LORD was with him, and was departed from Saul.13Therefore Saul removed him from him, and made him his captain over a thousand; and he went out and came in before the people.
Ps 61:1-8 (KJV)
1To the chief Musician upon Neginah, A Psalm of David. Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.2From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.3For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.4I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.5For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name.6Thou wilt prolong the king’s life: and his years as many generations.7He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.8So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.

Ephesians 1 and Nehemiah 5
Ephesians one is a contrast or opposite of Nehemiah 5. In both chapters we also see the blessing of inheritance and the abuse of inheritance. In Ephesians we see the outpoured love of God through Jesus Christ that brings forth us as an inheritance of the Father and also our inheritance in the Father, the Son, and the saints. In Nehemiah we see those who abused their brethren and put them in bondage because of their own selfish greed.
Neh 5:7-13 (KJV)
7Then I consulted with myself, and I rebuked the nobles, and the rulers, and said unto them, Ye exact usury, every one of his brother. And I set a great assembly against them.8And I said unto them, We after our ability have redeemed our brethren the Jews, which were sold unto the heathen; and will ye even sell your brethren? or shall they be sold unto us? Then held they their peace, and found nothing to answer.9Also I said, It is not good that ye do: ought ye not to walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the heathen our enemies?10I likewise, and my brethren, and my servants, might exact of them money and corn: I pray you, let us leave off this usury.11Restore, I pray you, to them, even this day, their lands, their vineyards, their oliveyards, and their houses, also the hundredth part of the money, and of the corn, the wine, and the oil, that ye exact of them.12Then said they, We will restore them, and will require nothing of them; so will we do as thou sayest. Then I called the priests, and took an oath of them, that they should do according to this promise.13Also I shook my lap, and said, So God shake out every man from his house, and from his labour, that performeth not this promise, even thus be he shaken out, and emptied. And all the congregation said, Amen, and praised the LORD. And the people did according to this promise.
Eph 1:3-23 (KJV)
3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:4According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:5Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,6To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.7In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;8Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;9Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:10That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:11In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:12That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.13In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,14Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.15Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,16Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;17That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:18The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,19And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,20Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,21Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:22And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,23Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

The desire for a well of water without people trying to destroy it or steal it was long coming but then because Isaac chose peace over fighting for water he eventually found the very best well of water.
Prov 13:12 (KJV)
12Hope deferred mhaketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.
Prov 13:19 (KJV)
19The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil.
