2 Kings 18 and Psalms 147 plus Esther 5

The LORD is saying that likewise the enemy is accusing and intimidating the free USA, Israel, and other countries and offering bribes that they might compromise and surrender. This is also happening to churches and us as individuals. God will bring deliverance as we humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God, pray and fast and turn from our self-seeking ways even as He did to Jerusalem under Hezekiah. The enemy has plans to bring the surprise of complete destruction and only the LORD can bring great deliverance and blessing.
2Kgs 18:30-37 (KJV)

30Neither let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, The LORD will surely deliver us, and this city shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.31Hearken not to Hezekiah: for thus saith the king of Assyria, Make an agreement with me by a present, and come out to me, and then eat ye every man of his own vine, and every one of his fig tree, and drink ye every one the waters of his cistern:32Until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of corn and wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of oil olive and of honey, that ye may live, and not die: and hearken not unto Hezekiah, when he persuadeth you, saying, The LORD will deliver us.33Hath any of the gods of the nations delivered at all his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?34Where are the gods of Hamath, and of Arpad? where are the gods of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivah? have they delivered Samaria out of mine hand?35Who are they among all the gods of the countries, that have delivered their country out of mine hand, that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem out of mine hand?36But the people held their peace, and answered him not a word: for the king’s commandment was, saying, Answer him not.37Then came Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder, to Hezekiah with their clothes rent, and told him the words of Rabshakeh.

Ps 147:1-6 (KJV)

1Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.2The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.3He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.4He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.5Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.6The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

Ps 147:10-13 (KJV)

10He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.11The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.12Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.13For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.

Esth 5:1-14 (KJV)

1Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king’s house, over against the king’s house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house.2And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.3Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.4And Esther answered, If it seem good unto the king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the banquet that I have prepared for him.5Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste, that he may do as Esther hath said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared.6And the king said unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.7Then answered Esther, and said, My petition and my request is;8If I have found favour in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do to morrow as the king hath said.9Then went Haman forth that day joyful and with a glad heart: but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king’s gate, that he stood not up, nor moved for him, he was full of indignation against Mordecai.10Nevertheless Haman refrained himself: and when he came home, he sent and called for his friends, and Zeresh his wife.11And Haman told them of the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, and all the things wherein the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king.12Haman said moreover, Yea, Esther the queen did let no man come in with the king unto the banquet that she had prepared but myself; and to morrow am I invited unto her also with the king.13Yet all this availeth me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king’s gate.14Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made of fifty cubits high, and to morrow speak thou unto the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily with the king unto the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman; and he caused the gallows to be made.

Romans 1 and Deuteronomy 8

Both of these chapters describe the mystery and process of apostacy from knowing God Who is the way, the truth, and the life to becoming enemies of God that are completely reprobate.

Deut 8:3-5 (KJV)

3And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.4Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years.5Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the LORD thy God chasteneth thee.

Deut 8:10-18 (KJV)

10When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.11Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:12Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein;13And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied;14Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the LORD thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;15Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;16Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;17And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth.18But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

Rom 1:16-20 (KJV)

16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.17For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;19Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Rom 1:21-32 (KJV)

21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,23And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;29Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,30Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,31Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:32Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

SPECIAL for Bible Study John 15:1-8

JESUS IS THE VINE. Jesus is the full expression of the Father. Hebrews 1:3

THE FATHER IS THE GARDNER
Eph 1:3-5 (KJV)

3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:4According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:5Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

1Pet 1:2 (KJV)

2Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

True Vine implies false vine. There is a counterfeit gospel and there is a new age gospel that teaches love and forgiveness.

Isa 5:7-9 (KJV)

7For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry.8Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth!9In mine ears said the LORD of hosts, Of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant.

Rev 2:1-7 (KJV)

1Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;2I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:3And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.4Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.5Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.6But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.7He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Amen.26

THE BRANCHES NEED TO BE PRUNED

John 15:2 (KJV)

2Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Connected with verse 6

John 15:6 (KJV)

6If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Col 1:22-23 (KJV)

22In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:23If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

Rev 3:4-5 (KJV)

4Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.5He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
When the word talks about the elect is about the group as a whole

2Pet 1:10 (KJV)

10Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

Election defined:
G1589 ἐκλογή ekloge (ek-log-ay’) n.

1. (divine) selection (abstractly or concretely)

[from G1586]

KJV: chosen, election

Root(s): G1586

[?]

NT VINES
<A-1,Adjective,1588,eklektos>

lit. signifies “picked out, chosen” (ek, “from,” lego, “to gather, pick out”), and is used of (a) Christ, the “chosen” of God, as the Messiah, Luk 23:35 (for the verb in Luk 9:35 see Note below), and metaphorically as a “living Stone,” “a chief corner Stone,” 1Pe 2:4, 1Pe 2:6; some mss. have it in Joh 1:34, instead of huios, “Son;” (b) angels, 1Ti 5:21, as “chosen” to be of especially high rank in administrative association with God, or as His messengers to human beings, doubtless in contrast to fallen angels (see 2Pe 2:4; Jud 1:6); (c) believers (Jews or Gentiles), Mat 24:22, Mat 24:24, Mat 24:31; Mar 13:20, Mar 13:22, Mar 13:27; Luk 18:7; Rom 8:33; Col 3:12; 2Ti 2:10; Tit 1:1; 1Pe 1:1; 1Pe 2:9 (as a spiritual race); Mat 20:16; Mat 22:14; Rev 17:14, “chosen;” individual believers are so mentioned in Rom 16:13; 2Jo 1:1, 2Jo 1:13.

Believers were “chosen” “before the foundation of the world” (cp. “before times eternal,” 2Ti 1:9), in Christ, Eph 1:4, to adoption, Eph 1:5; good works, Eph 2:10; conformity to Christ, Rom 8:29; salvation from the delusions of the Antichrist and the doom of the deluded, 2Th 2:13; eternal glory, Rom 9:23.

HIS WORD MAKES US CLEAN
John 15:3 (KJV)
Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
The WORD cleanses from sin because it is like light and water which expose sin for what it is so that there is abhorrence and repentance to be cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ.

Eph 5:25-27 (KJV)

25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;26That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,27That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Ps 119:130 (KJV)

130The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

DEF: CLEAN

G2513 καθαρός katharos (kath-ar-os’) adj.

1. clean

{literally or figuratively}

[of uncertain affinity]

KJV: clean, clear, pure

NT VINES
A-1,Adjective,2513,katharos>

“free from impure admixture, without blemish, spotless,” is used (a) physically, e.g., Mat 23:26; Mat 27:59; Joh 13:10 (where the Lord, speaking figuratively, teaches that one who has been entirely “cleansed,” needs not radical renewal, but only to be “cleansed” from every sin into which he may fall); Joh 15:3; Heb 10:22; Rev 15:6; Rev 19:8, Rev 19:14; Rev 21:18, Rev 21:21; (b) in a Levitical sense, Rom 14:20; Tit 1:15, “pure;” (c) ethically, with the significance free from corrupt desire, from guilt, Mat 5:8; Joh 13:10-11; Act 20:26; 1Ti 1:5; 1Ti 3:9; 2Ti 1:3; 2Ti 2:22; Tit 1:15; Jam 1:27; blameless, innocent (a rare meaning for this word), Act 18:6; (d) in a combined Levitical and ethical sense ceremonially, Luk 11:41, “all things are clean unto you.” See CLEAR, C, Note (2), PURE.

<B-1,Verb,2511,katharizo>

akin to A, signifies (1) “to make clean, to cleanse” (a) from physical stains and dirt, as in the case of utensils, Mat 23:25 (figuratively in Mat 23:26); from disease, as of leprosy, Mat 8:2; (b) in a moral sense, from the defilement of sin, Act 15:9; 2Co 7:1; Heb 9:14; Jam 4:8, “cleanse” from the guilt of sin, Eph 5:26; 1Jo 1:7; (2) “to pronounce clean in a Levitical sense,” Mar 7:19, RV; Act 10:15; Act 11:9; “to consecrate by cleansings,” Heb 9:22-23; Heb 10:2. 2. (by implication) a topic (subject of discourse), also reasoning (the mental faculty) or motive

3. (by extension) a computation

4. (specially, with the article in John) the Divine Expression (i.e. Christ)

[from G3004]

NT VINES <1,,3056,logos>

denotes (I) “the expression of thought,” not the mere name of an object, (a) as embodying a conception or idea, e.g., Luk 7:7; 1Co 14:9,1Co 14:19; (b) a saying or statement, (1) by God, e.g., Joh 15:25; Rom 9:9; Rom 9:28, RV, “word” (AV, “work”); Gal 5:14; Heb 4:12; (2) by Christ, e.g., Mat 24:35 (plur.); Joh 2:22; Joh 4:41; Joh 14:23 (plur.); Joh 15:20. In connection with (1) and (2) the phrase “the word of the Lord,” i.e., the revealed will of God (very frequent in the OT), is used of a direct revelation given by Christ, 1Th 4:15; of the gospel, Act 8:25; Act 13:49; Act 15:35-36; Act 16:32; Act 19:10; 1Th 1:8; 2Th 3:1; in this respect it is the message from the Lord, delivered with His authority and made effective by His power (cp. Act 10:36); for other instances relating to the gospel see Act 13:26; Act 14:3; Act 15:7; 1Co 1:18, RV; 2Co 2:17; 2Co 4:2; 2Co 5:19; 2Co 6:7; Gal 6:6; Eph 1:13; Phi 2:16; Col 1:5; Heb 5:13; sometimes it is used as the sum of God’s utterances, e.g., Mar 7:13; Joh 10:35; Rev 1:2,Rev 1:9; (c) discourse, speech, of instruction, etc., e.g., Act 2:40; 1Co 2:13; 1Co 12:8; 2Co 1:18; 1Th 1:5; 2Th 2:15; Heb 6:1, RV, marg.; doctrine, e.g., Mat 13:20; Col 3:16; 1Ti 4:6; 2Ti 1:13; Tit 1:9; 1Jo 2:7;

WE MUST ABIDE IN HIM TO BEAR FRUIT.

John 15:4-5 (KJV)

4Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.5I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

DEF: ABIDE
A strong power leader
B family, house, in

I hand, work, throw, worshipers

D entrance, move, hang

E look, reveal, breath, fulfillment. Symbol of man with arms raised.

Be strong to be in place of habitation and then worship to enter revelation and fulfillment with God

G3306 μένω meno (men’-o) v.

1. to remain

2. (in a place) to abide, to stay

3. (of expectancy) to await

4. (in a state) to continue

5. (in a task) to endure

6. (of a relationship) to exist permanently in, inseparably united (inhere, adhere)

There is the danger of losing our first love like the church of Ephesus and then entering into mere ritualism and self merit.

Rev 2:2-5 (KJV)

2I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:3And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.4Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.5Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

There is the danger individually and corporately of not worshiping and praying in the Spirit and losing our first love. We then lose our creativity so that the gifts of the Spirit do not operate.

Diligence and a continual receiving of Christ as we first received Him which is the fear of God.
Isa 33:5-6 (KJV)

5The LORD is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.6And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.

2Pet 1:8-9 (KJV)

8For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.9But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

THE USELESS BRANCHES WILL BE BURNED

John 15:6 (KJV)

6If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

IF WE ABIDE IN HIM WE BEAR FRUIT
John 15:7 (KJV)

7If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Matthew 22 and 2 Chronicles 32
The common theme discovered in these two chapters is self-righteousness and pride which is seen in the one that came to the wedding not having and wedding garment and in Hezekiah becoming proud after God gave Him such great victory over the King of Assyria.
Matt 22:7-13 (KJV)

7But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.8Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.9Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.10So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.11And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:12And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.13Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

2Chr 32:24-27 (KJV)

24In those days Hezekiah was sick to the death, and prayed unto the LORD: and he spake unto him, and he gave him a sign.25But Hezekiah rendered not again according to the benefit done unto him; for his heart was lifted up: therefore there was wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem.26Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the LORD came not upon them in the days of Hezekiah.27And Hezekiah had exceeding much riches and honour: and he made himself treasuries for silver, and for gold, and for precious stones, and for spices, and for shields, and for all manner of pleasant jewels;

2Chr 32:31-32 (KJV)

31Howbeit in the business of the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to enquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.32Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and his goodness, behold, they are written in the vision of Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, and in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.

Proverbs 26 and Zechariah 3

The common theme in these chapters is the false lying attack of the enemy with false accusation and the power to overcome it through faith in God and a pure life through repentance.
Prov 26:2 (KJV)

2As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.

Prov 26:8 (KJV)

8As he that bindeth a stone in a sling, so is he that giveth honour to a fool.

Prov 26:24-27 (KJV)

24He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him;25When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart.26Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the whole congregation.27Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.

Prov 26:28 (KJV)

28A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.

Zech 3:1-5 (KJV)

1And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.2And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?3Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel.4And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.5And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the LORD stood by.

Zech 3:7-10 (KJV)

7Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.8Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH.9For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.10In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, shall ye call every man his neighbour under the vine and under the fig tree.
