Romans 16 and 2 Timothy 1
Why was there an appointed time in history when the gospel was made manifest? Because the apostacy of man from God in many forms of idolatry was not to its full maturity until that time. They would therefore receive the message of the gospel and soon make it into another mere form of idolatry. They would not be open to the gospel until idolatrous rebellion against God had reached it’s full maturity to be evil enough to be cornered to be open to the gospel. It is also because it needed to involve purifying a nation that could be pure enough through one lineage and person to bring forth the incarnation of God into the human lineage with the blood from God the Holy Spirit.
Rom 16:17-20 (KJV)
17Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.18For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.19For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.20And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
