Scriptures Taken by Lot Before the LORD with Rough Notes:

August 19,2025 Tuesday
Matthew 4 and 1 Samuel 15

In both of these chapters there is the temptation to disobey the word of God. In the case of Christ there was no sparing the devil’s tempting or compromising Him. In the case of Saul there was the same three kinds of temptations which are the lust of the flesh to eat and have possession, fearing to be humble and perceived as weak before others and the enemy which is pride, and the lust of the eyes for more immediate possession, self glory and power.

1Sam 15:19-26 (KJV)

19Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD?20And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.21But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal.22And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.23For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.24And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.25Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD.26And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.

Isaiah 43 and Numbers 17

Both of these chapters are about God who created Jacob then forming Jacob into Israel. The holiness of God requires the trials to pressure and form into conformity to the holiness of God as illustrated in Numbers 17. There had to be judgment before revealing the authority of God in raised up leadership with the rods that budded. In Isaiah 43 God’s love for Israel is shown in the present context at that time of serious judgment which is the pressure to form into godliness.

I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.20The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.21This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.22But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of me, O Israel.

Num 17:1-13 (KJV)

1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,2Speak unto the children of Israel, and take of every one of them a rod according to the house of their fathers, of all their princes according to the house of their fathers twelve rods: write thou every man’s name upon his rod.3And thou shalt write Aaron’s name upon the rod of Levi: for one rod shall be for the head of the house of their fathers.4And thou shalt lay them up in the tabernacle of the congregation before the testimony, where I will meet with you.5And it shall come to pass, that the man’s rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, whereby they murmur against you.6And Moses spake unto the children of Israel, and every one of their princes gave him a rod apiece, for each prince one, according to their fathers’ houses, even twelve rods: and the rod of Aaron was among their rods.7And Moses laid up the rods before the LORD in the tabernacle of witness.8And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.9And Moses brought out all the rods from before the LORD unto all the children of Israel: and they looked, and took every man his rod.10And the LORD said unto Moses, Bring Aaron’s rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and thou shalt quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not.11And Moses did so: as the LORD commanded him, so did he.12And the children of Israel spake unto Moses, saying, Behold, we die, we perish, we all perish.13Whosoever cometh any thing near unto the tabernacle of the LORD shall die: shall we be consumed with dying?

August 21 and 22, 2025 Thursday and Friday
Micah 4 and Psalms 99 plus Ezra 6
Isaiah 43 from the day before and these chapters are about the nations and the nation of Israel. The nations come under the dominion of God through Israel because Israel has been purified through trials especially in captivity in other nations to become holy. In Psalms 99 we see the importance of the right perception of God and holiness for the wholeness and authority of God to be executed through Israel.

Rom 11:18-24 (KJV)

18Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.19Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.20Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:21For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.22Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.23And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.24For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?

Esth 8:17 (KJV)

17And in every province, and in every city, whithersoever the king’s commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews; for the fear of the Jews fell upon them.

Ezek 38:16 (KJV)

16And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.

Rom 2:28-29 (KJV)

28For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:29But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

Rev 3:9 (KJV)

9Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

1But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.2And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.3And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.4But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it.5For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever.6In that day, saith the LORD, will I assemble her that halteth, and I will gather her that is driven out, and her that I have afflicted;7And I will make her that halted a remnant, and her that was cast far off a strong nation: and the LORD shall reign over them in mount Zion from henceforth, even for ever.8And thou, O tower of the flock, the strong hold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem.9Now why dost thou cry out aloud? is there no king in thee? is thy counsellor perished? for pangs have taken thee as a woman in travail.10Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the LORD shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.11Now also many nations are gathered against thee, that say, Let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon Zion.12But they know not the thoughts of the LORD, neither understand they his counsel: for he shall gather them as the sheaves into the floor.13Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their gain unto the LORD, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.

Ps 99:1-9 (KJV)

1The LORD reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth be moved.2The LORD is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people.3Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy.4The king’s strength also loveth judgment; thou dost establish equity, thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob.5Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.6Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the LORD, and he answered them.7He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the ordinance that he gave them.8Thou answeredst them, O LORD our God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance of their inventions.9Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.

Ezra 6:1-22 (KJV)

1Then Darius the king made a decree, and search was made in the house of the rolls, where the treasures were laid up in Babylon.2And there was found at Achmetha, in the palace that is in the province of the Medes, a roll, and therein was a record thus written:3In the first year of Cyrus the king the same Cyrus the king made a decree concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, Let the house be builded, the place where they offered sacrifices, and let the foundations thereof be strongly laid; the height thereof threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof threescore cubits;4With three rows of great stones, and a row of new timber: and let the expenses be given out of the king’s house:5And also let the golden and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took forth out of the temple which is at Jerusalem, and brought unto Babylon, be restored, and brought again unto the temple which is at Jerusalem, every one to his place, and place them in the house of God.6Now therefore, Tatnai, governor beyond the river, Shetharboznai, and your companions the Apharsachites, which are beyond the river, be ye far from thence:7Let the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God in his place.8Moreover I make a decree what ye shall do to the elders of these Jews for the building of this house of God: that of the king’s goods, even of the tribute beyond the river, forthwith expenses be given unto these men, that they be not hindered.9And that which they have need of, both young bullocks, and rams, and lambs, for the burnt offerings of the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the appointment of the priests which are at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail:10That they may offer sacrifices of sweet savours unto the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons.11Also I have made a decree, that whosoever shall alter this word, let timber be pulled down from his house, and being set up, let him be hanged thereon; and let his house be made a dunghill for this.12And the God that hath caused his name to dwell there destroy all kings and people, that shall put to their hand to alter and to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with speed.13
