January 20, 2025 Monday TRUMP BECOMES PRESIDENT
1 Chronicles 13 and 2 Kings 7

In both of these chapters a leader under the authority of the King is smitten dead by God. In the case of Uzza there was a lack of the fear of God that caused Uzza to treat the presence of God in the ark lightly or with a lack of reverence. In the case of the servant on whose hand the King leaned there was unbelief that was also due to the lack of the fear of God as he was saying that God was limited and could not do such a thing. Unbelief in God’s power to do the impossible is showing disrespect to God and evidence of the lack of the fear of God. This is brought on because of the focus on earthly things through failure to seek God from the heart and which also can be a failure to seek from the heart because of wrongly seeking God out of mere self merit and duty. David at first had a wrong perception of God after this judgment from the holiness of God which was the same as that of Cain and is a counterfeit fear of God that can lead to unbelief or can be repented of leading to the genuine fear of God and faith as was the case with King David.

1Chr 13:9-14 (KJV)
9And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.10And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God.11And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perezuzza to this day.12And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?13So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.14And the ark of God remained with the family of Obededom in his house three months. And the LORD blessed the house of Obededom, and all that he had.

2Kgs 7:17-20 (KJV)
17And the king appointed the lord on whose hand he leaned to have the charge of the gate: and the people trode upon him in the gate, and he died, as the man of God had said, who spake when the king came down to him.18And it came to pass as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, Two measures of barley for a shekel, and a measure of fine flour for a shekel, shall be to morrow about this time in the gate of Samaria:19And that lord answered the man of God, and said, Now, behold, if the LORD should make windows in heaven, might such a thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.20And so it fell out unto him: for the people trode upon him in the gate, and he died.

John 8 and Habakkuk 3

In both these chapters we see that genuine belief in Yahweh is independent and transcendent of temporal motives of lust, glory from people, or circumstances of trial and difficulty.

John 8:43-45 (KJV)
43Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.44Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.45And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

Hab 3:15-19 (KJV)
15Thou didst walk through the sea with thine horses, through the heap of great waters.16When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the voice: rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in myself, that I might rest in the day of trouble: when he cometh up unto the people, he will invade them with his troops.17Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:18Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.19The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. Psalms 30 and Luke 22

In these two chapters we see that there is great trial that is overwhelming to the point of despairing of even being able to live in the body but then there is the intervention of God to strengthen through the trial by crying out to God in prayer. God sends an angel to strengthen Christ when He is in prayer and sweating blood because of the severity of the trial. Christ prays for Peter that his faith would not fail in the trial.
Ps 30:1-12 (KJV)
1A Psalm and Song at the dedication of the house of David. I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.2O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.3O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.4Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.5For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.6And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.7LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.8I cried to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication.9What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?10Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper.11Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;12To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.
Luke 22:39-44 (KJV)
39And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.40And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.41And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,42Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.43And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.44And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

Exodus 11 and Exodus 33

These two chapters fit with Romans 9. They contrast the hardened heart with the hard that is not stubborn before God but plyable and yielded. It is those that sought the LORD who found grace in God’s sight because through prayer the heart is softened and becomes humble and yielded to God.
Exod 11:5-10 (KJV)
5And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts.6And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more.7But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.8And all these thy servants shall come down unto me, and bow down themselves unto me, saying, Get thee out, and all the people that follow thee: and after that I will go out. And he went out from Pharaoh in a great anger.9And the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you; that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.10And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh: and the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go out of his land.
Exod 33:7-11 (KJV)
7And Moses took the tabernacle, and pitched it without the camp, afar off from the camp, and called it the Tabernacle of the
