Ezekiel 39 and Amos 9

These two chapters are prophecies of the last days of Israel being brought back from their captivity and being restored to the land and then having a great deliverance from a sudden attack when everything looks to be a time of peace without need of strong military defense.

Ezek 39:25-29 (KJV)

25Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name;26After that they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and none made them afraid.27When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies’ lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations;28Then shall they know that I am the LORD their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there.29Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.

Amos 9:11-15 (KJV)

11In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:12That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the LORD that doeth this.13Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.14And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.15And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God.

Amos 9:7 (KJV)

7Are ye not as children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children of Israel? saith the LORD. Have not I brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt? and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir? It takes two returns from captivity to finally purge them into an everlasting kingdom of God.

Ezek 38:8-23 (KJV)

8After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.9Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.10Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:11And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,12To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.13Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?14Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it?15And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:16And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.17Thus saith the Lord GOD; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?18And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my fury shall come up in my face.19For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;20So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.21And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man’s sword shall be against his brother.22And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.23Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.

Deuteronomy 33 and Acts 1

The commonality between these two chapters is blessing by the leader on 12 tribes and in Acts on 12 Apostles. In both chapters the leaders depart after blessing which is Moses in Deuteronomy and Christ in Acts 1. After the leadership leaves there is then entering into inheritance which is the promised land for the 12 tribes and in Acts the inheritance of multitudes into the everlasting Kingdom of God.

Acts 1:6-14 (KJV)

6When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?7And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.8But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.9And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.10And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;11Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.12Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey.13And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.14These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

Deut 33:1 (KJV)

1And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.

Deut 33:2-5 (KJV)

2And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them.3Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words.4Moses commanded us a law, even the inheritance of the congregation of Jacob.5And he was king in Jeshurun, when the heads of the people and the tribes of Israel were gathered together.

Deut 33:26-29 (KJV)

26There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.27The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.28Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew.29Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.

Job 41 and Job 7

2 Samuel 2 and Revelation 13
In these chapters there are those that are offended because of perceived wrong. The wound of that offense can lead to oppressive tyranny if it is not overcome with love and forgiveness. If it is overcome by love it can lead to genuine unity instead of division and war. In Job 41 God reveals that importance of fearing God instead of entering into a heart set of victim-hood as in Job 7. Unbelief cannot see God as righteous in what God allows and this comes out of offense.

Job 7:12-20 (KJV)

12Am I a sea, or a whale, that thou settest a watch over me?13When I say, My bed shall comfort me, my couch shall ease my complaint;14Then thou scarest me with dreams, and terrifiest me through visions:15So that my soul chooseth strangling, and death rather than my life.16I loathe it; I would not live alway: let me alone; for my days are vanity.17What is man, that thou shouldest magnify him? and that thou shouldest set thine heart upon him?18And that thou shouldest visit him every morning, and try him every moment?19How long wilt thou not depart from me, nor let me alone till I swallow down my spittle?20I have sinned; what shall I do unto thee, O thou preserver of men? why hast thou set me as a mark against thee, so that I am a burden to myself?

Job 41:1-4 (KJV)

1Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?2Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn?3Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee?4Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever?

2Sam 2:25-29 (KJV)

25And the children of Benjamin gathered themselves together after Abner, and became one troop, and stood on the top of an hill.26Then Abner called to Joab, and said, Shall the sword devour for ever? knowest thou not that it will be bitterness in the latter end? how long shall it be then, ere thou bid the people return from following their brethren?27And Joab said, As God liveth, unless thou hadst spoken, surely then in the morning the people had gone up every one from following his brother.28So Joab blew a trumpet, and all the people stood still, and pursued after Israel no more, neither fought they any more.29And Abner and his men walked all that night through the plain, and passed over Jordan, and went through all Bithron, and they came to Mahanaim.

Rev 13:3-7 (KJV)

3And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.4And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?5And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.6And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.7And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
