Exodus 5 and 2 Corinthians 1
Both of these chapters are about the people of God facing tribulation and God using it to bring them into trusting God through it and coming into intimacy with God in earnest prayer. Initially in the trial the enemy seeks to intimidate us and get us to give up trusting God because the situation looks so impossible for any deliverance in the natural.
Exod 5:21-23 (KJV)
21And they said unto them, The LORD look upon you, and judge; because ye have made our savour to be abhorred in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to slay us.22And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Lord, wherefore hast thou so evil entreated this people? why is it that thou hast sent me?23For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all.
2Cor 1:3-10 (KJV)
3Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;4Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.5For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.6And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.7And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.8For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:9But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:10Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;

2 Kings 19 and Exodus 23 plus 2 Kings 20
These chapters are about the keys to deliverance from the enemy. The key is to not compromise in the slightest.
Exod 23:20-24 (KJV)
20Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.21Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.22But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries.23For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off.24Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images.
2Kgs 19:1-5 (KJV)
1And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.2And he sent Eliakim, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.3And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.4It may be the LORD thy God will hear all the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that are left.5So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.

Judges 5 and 1 Samuel 27 plus Proverbs 4
In these two chapters God often allows His overcomers to go through great humility or to do an act of humility before He brings great deliverance.
Judg 5:16-27 (KJV)
16Why abodest thou among the sheepfolds, to hear the bleatings of the flocks? For the divisions of Reuben there were great searchings of heart.17Gilead abode beyond Jordan: and why did Dan remain in ships? Asher continued on the sea shore, and abode in his breaches.18Zebulun and Naphtali were a people that jeoparded their lives unto the death in the high places of the field.19The kings came and fought, then fought the kings of Canaan in Taanach by the waters of Megiddo; they took no gain of money.20They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera.21The river of Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. O my soul, thou hast trodden down strength.22Then were the horsehoofs broken by the means of the pransings, the pransings of their mighty ones.23Curse ye Meroz, said the angel of the LORD, curse ye bitterly the inhabitants thereof; because they came not to the help of the LORD, to the help of the LORD against the mighty.24Blessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be, blessed shall she be above women in the tent.25He asked water, and she gave him milk; she brought forth butter in a lordly dish.26She put her hand to the nail, and her right hand to the workmen’s hammer; and with the hammer she smote Sisera, she smote off his head, when she had pierced and stricken through his temples.27At her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay down: at her feet he bowed, he fell: where he bowed, there he fell down dead.
1Sam 27:5-12 (KJV)
5And David said unto Achish, If I have now found grace in thine eyes, let them give me a place in some town in the country, that I may dwell there: for why should thy servant dwell in the royal city with thee?6Then Achish gave him Ziklag that day: wherefore Ziklag pertaineth unto the kings of Judah unto this day.7And the time that David dwelt in the country of the Philistines was a full year and four months.8And David and his men went up, and invaded the Geshurites, and the Gezrites, and the Amalekites: for those nations were of old the inhabitants of the land, as thou goest to Shur, even unto the land of Egypt.9And David smote the land, and left neither man nor woman alive, and took away the sheep, and the oxen, and the asses, and the camels, and the apparel, and returned, and came to Achish.10And Achish said, Whither have ye made a road to day? And David said, Against the south of Judah, and against the south of the Jerahmeelites, and against the south of the Kenites.11And David saved neither man nor woman alive, to bring tidings to Gath, saying, Lest they should tell on us, saying, So did David, and so will be his manner all the while he dwelleth in the country of the Philistines.12And Achish believed David, saying, He hath made his people Israel utterly to abhor him; therefore he shall be my servant for ever.
Prov 4:23-27 (KJV)
23Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.24Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.25Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.26Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.27Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

Leviticus 22 and Genesis 21
Both of these chapters have a strong theme of separation from what is unclean and displeasing to the LORD. To have purity the price for separation is required and it is then that God can bring His blessing.
Lev 22:3-7 (KJV)
3Say unto them, Whosoever he be of all your seed among your generations, that goeth unto the holy things, which the children of Israel hallow unto the LORD, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from my presence: I am the LORD.4What man soever of the seed of Aaron is a leper, or hath a running issue; he shall not eat of the holy things, until he be clean. And whoso toucheth any thing that is unclean by the dead, or a man whose seed goeth from him;5Or whosoever toucheth any creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness, whatsoever uncleanness he hath;6The soul which hath touched any such shall be unclean until even, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he wash his flesh with water.7And when the sun is down, he shall be clean, and shall afterward eat of the holy things; because it is his food.
Gen 21:9-13 (KJV)
9And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.10Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.11And the thing was very grievous in Abraham’s sight because of his son.12And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.13And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.
Gen 21:22-31 (KJV)
22And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phichol the chief captain of his host spake unto Abraham, saying, God is with thee in all that thou doest:23Now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son’s son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned.24And Abraham said, I will swear.25And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of a well of water, which Abimelech’s servants had violently taken away.26And Abimelech said, I wot not who hath done this thing: neither didst thou tell me, neither yet heard I of it, but to day.27And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them unto Abimelech; and both of them made a covenant.28And Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.29And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What mean these seven ewe lambs which thou hast set by themselves?30And he said, For these seven ewe lambs shalt thou take of my hand, that they may be a witness unto me, that I have digged this well.31Wherefore he called that place Beersheba; because there they sware both of them.

Psalms 99 and 37
The common message that comes out of these two chapters is that when we lose reverence and awe towards the LORD out of the genuine fear of God which acknowledges the goodness of God’s holiness in judgment he cannot rule in our heart because then we do not truly acknowledges the great power and goodness of God’s rulership. As a result we become proud instead of humble so that God can not rule through us or bless us. We also fall short of the virtues in Psalms 37 of trust, doing good, delighting in the LORD, committing our way unto the LORD, waiting with rest in the LORD.
Ps 99:1-9 (KJV)
1The LORD reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth be moved.2The LORD is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people.3Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy.4The king’s strength also loveth judgment; thou dost establish equity, thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob.5Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.6Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the LORD, and he answered them.7He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the ordinance that he gave them.8Thou answeredst them, O LORD our God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance of their inventions.9Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.
Ps 37:1-7 (KJV)
1A Psalm of David. Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.2For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.3Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.4Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.5Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.6And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.7Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
