Isaiah 23 and Song of Solomon 1
Both of these chapters compare a nation to a female lover. One is Tyre which is judged because of her pride due to her prosperity and the other is the nation of Israel and the corporate body of Jesus Christ. The harlot city Tyre is even restored after 70 years of captivity and again commits fornication with the nations but her profits now go to meet the needs of God’s people. The Song of Solomon reveals the intimate pure relationship of Jesus Christ with His corporate bride.

8Who hath taken this counsel against Tyre, the crowning city, whose merchants are princes, whose traffickers are the honourable of the earth?9The LORD of hosts hath purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, and to bring into contempt all the honourable of the earth.10Pass through thy land as a river, O daughter of Tarshish: there is no more strength.11He stretched out his hand over the sea, he shook the kingdoms: the LORD hath given a commandment against the merchant city, to destroy the strong holds thereof.

1 Samuel 22 and 2 John 1
These two chapters are in contrast to each other. 2 John emphasizes that we are to walk in the truth which dwells in us which truth is Who God is. To walk in the truth is to keep God’s commandment to love God with our whole being and to love one another as Christ loved us by laying down His physical life. Saul had totally self seeking motives which were contrary to genuine love and therefore also to truth.
When 2John 1:7 (KJV) states, “7For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.” it contains the following understanding. Deceivers are those that deny that God is so great that God could become a human being to not only communicate with His creation but also live a perfect live in love union with God, the Father, without committing sin and become a perfect atoning sacrifice for our sins, and be corrupted in living out this life in the flesh and thus rise from the dead victorious over sin and death. This is the ultimate perfection of love which is the very source of all truth and life and is the truth Who is God Who dwells in us.

These two chapters are about putting off the affections and loves of this world and about putting on the righteousness of God in our lives.

In both of these chapters there is a poisoning that causes rebellion against God and the leadship God raised up and also the people of God throwing themselves at the mercy of God in repentance from their rebellion that brings them victory over their enemies about to destroy them.
