Psalms 118: and Obadiah 1:
Num 20:3-5 (KJV)
3And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD!4And why have ye brought up the congregation of the LORD into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there?5And wherefore have ye made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it [is] no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither [is] there any water to drink.
Num 20:8-13 (KJV)
8Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.9And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him.10And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?11And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts [also].12And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.13This [is] the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them.
Num 25:1-3 (KJV)
1And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.2And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.3And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel.
Num 25:17-18 (KJV)
17Vex the Midianites, and smite them:18For they vex you with their wiles, wherewith they have beguiled you in the matter of Peor, and in the matter of Cozbi, the daughter of a prince of Midian, their sister, which was slain in the day of the plague for Peor’s sake.
Num 31:1-3 (KJV)
1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,2Avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites: afterward shalt thou be gathered unto thy people.3And Moses spake unto the people, saying, Arm some of yourselves unto the war, and let them go against the Midianites, and avenge the LORD of Midian.
Num 31:15-18 (KJV)
15And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive?16Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.17Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.18But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
Obad 1:8-10 (KJV)
8Shall I not in that day, saith the LORD, even destroy the wise [men] out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau?9And thy mighty [men], O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one of the mount of Esau may be cut off by slaughter.10For [thy] violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever.
Obad 1:15-17 (KJV)
15For the day of the LORD [is] near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.16For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, [so] shall all the heathen drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not been.17But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.
