Isa 11:2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
1. Ephesus means full purposed. To be fully purposed and to have vision for motivation is very important but it is not enough without the secret of growing in a love relationship with God. The secret to not letting purpose become an idol is in renewal of relationship out of the secret of abiding in God which is by entering and growing in the genuine fear of God. This means prayer and waiting on God is more important than getting into activity of serving God that can easily devolve into activity and purpose becoming the focus instead of the source of the purpose who is God in Jesus Christ. Christ walks in the midst of the candlesticks representing the churches but has lost recognition of being in the midst of them as their very life source. Thus those that overcome are promised the tree of life that is in the midst of paradise, in other words, the very source of life to partake of as being forever in their very midst. Ephesians is about the oneness of the body of Christ and it is the Spirit of God in the perfection of oneness through thirst for communion with God that is highlighted to the church of Ephesus. 1-7
2. Symrna means myrrh or perfumed oil. The secret to overcoming suffering and death is to chose not to fear what we will suffer by recognizing that we can trust God to give us the strength to come through persecution, torture and death in faithful union with Jesus Christ. These refuse to bow to the anti-christ system in place of the truth and will be in the first resurrection as mentioned in Revelation 20:4-6 which says, 4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. Symrna highlights the perfection of God’s Holy Spirit of Faith that fearlessly trusts God in the face of death itself 8-11
